Whether on a long approach or a technical climb, the Soft Shell Summit Pants by The North Face are built for the long haul. They're made with durable nylon and stretchy elastane, harnessing articulated design details and reinforced kick patches designed with movement in mind. Featuring two zipped hand pockets and a thigh pocket with an integrated gear loop. And the hem openings feature zips and stretch gusseting to accommodate a range of mountaineering boots. On top of all this, they are fully windproof, thanks to hardworking WindWall fabric technology. Summit Series layers all work together for optimum breathability, insulation, weather resistance and moisture management.

But it was actually founded in 1966 at an altitude of 150 feet above sea level, on a beach in San Francisco’s North Beach area. Their mission is to provide the best gear, support the preservation of the outdoors and inspire exploration. Judging from this year’s collection, which matches style and rugged protection, they’re still very much on track.
