Climbing jackets are tailored for vertical adventures, featuring harness-compatible pockets, helmet-compatible hoods, articulated sleeves, and reinforced areas for durability. They prioritise mobility, breathability, and ruggedness, unlike general waterproof jackets that may lack these technical climbing-specific features. 

Lightweight jackets (300–400g) are ideal for fast, alpine climbs where every gram matters. For technical or harsh conditions, a slightly heavier jacket (up to 500g) with extra reinforcements and features like additional pockets and durability is better for long-term performance and protection.
