General

The North Face brought the clean lines of their original 1985 Mountain Jacket into the future with the Mountain Light Futurelight Triclimate Jacket. The colour blocking and overall shape is true to the original, but that's where the retro stuff stops. The three-layer Futurelight shell is the next level in breathable-waterproof protection thanks to the nano-spun membrane. It's light, soft and slightly stretchy, so it's incredibly comfortable to wear. Then there's the inner jacket stuffed with 550FP of responsibly-sourced down. Wear them together for protection from wind, rain, snow and the cold - basically all kinds of winter mountain weather. For when it's mild but wet use the Futurelight shell on its own. When it's cool but dry opt for the down-filled inner jacket. You get two jackets, for three different climatic conditions with no compromises on breathability. How's that for versatility?

About this brand

sr-tnf-brand-page-header

Few brands inspire confidence like The North Face. Year after year they make some of the best ski wear on the market. Bold colours, flattering fits and this year there’s something even more exciting in the line-up, a new fabric they’ve developed to deliver superior comfort, FUTURELIGHT. An added bonus of FUTRELIGHT is its eco-friendly credentials. Recycled materials go into the product, the waterproof coating comes from PFC-free chemicals while the factory is solar powered. The North Face is named after the coldest, most unforgiving side of a mountain. But it was actually founded in 1966 at an altitude of 150 feet above sea level, on a beach in San Francisco’s North Beach area. Their mission is to provide the best gear, support the preservation of the outdoors and inspire exploration. Judging from this year’s collection, which matches style and rugged protection, they’re still very much on track.
