General

Crafted in collaboration with Arctic explorers and inhabitants of the Polar regions, the Arctus emerges as a versatile jacket, embodying Rab's expertise in robust construction and insulation. Tailored for individuals stationed in remote outposts, enduring frigid climates, or venturing into the harshest environments, the Arctus Parka boasts features meticulously designed to enhance operational ease. Its generous patch pockets provide hassle-free storage, accompanied by an insulated chest pocket for gadgets or snacks. The oversized zip pullers ensure accessibility even with bulky gloves, while aluminum D-rings offer attachment points for a skidoo kill switch. A ventilated chin guard facilitates easy breathing without exposing skin or causing goggle fog.

Embraced by a resilient ripstop outer layer, the Arctus stands resilient against the onslaught of wind, sleet, and snow. Thoughtful construction adjustments maintain peak performance while simplifying repairs in remote settings. The waterproof membrane remains separate from the outer and inner fabrics, allowing for straightforward patch-ups if needed. Additionally, drawcords are left unsewn for effortless replacement, ensuring the Arctus Parka is not just a garment but a reliable companion in the face of extreme conditions.

About this brand

sr-rab-brand-page-header

The Rab story began in 1981 in the attic of a small, terraced house in Sheffield where Rab Carrington made the first sleeping bag to bear his name. Hand-stitched and devised with his own ingenious eye, Rab's experience from years spent in the mountains was apparent in his designs, and soon there was popular demand from Rab's friends and the growing local climbing community. Now, decades later, those honest, hard-wearing designs can be found all over the world; wherever adventurous individuals face up to the elements. From Himalayan peaks to cold, crisp evenings around a camp fire. This began as the brand's story, but it also belongs to those who've loved and cared for each and every one of our products. Who've made them their companions on long trips and expeditions.
