The Salomon S/Pro Supra BOA®

BOA® replaces traditional buckles with a dial and steel cable system. Turning the dial draws the cable through low-friction guides on the shell, pulling the boot around the whole foot in one smooth, even motion instead of pinching at set points.

Salomon's boots use the ski-specific H+i1 dial platform, which tightens or loosens in millimetre-precise clicks in both directions, so skiers can fine-tune fit without undoing the whole boot.

A quick-release pull tab lets skiers pop the boot open fast in lift queues or mountain huts, and a breakaway mechanism ejects the dial cartridge under hard impact to protect it, snapping back into place by hand on the slope.

Salomon builds BOA® into the Supra shell in three ways, each suited to a different kind of skier.

Single BOA: The first Supra BOA setup, launched for 2024/25. One dial on the lower part of the boot wraps the forefoot and instep, replacing the two lower buckles found on standard boots, while the upper cuff keeps traditional buckles for familiar shin support.

Dual BOA: Arrived for 2025/26 and features on the Salomon Supra BOA 105 and Supra BOA 120. Salomon's first boot with two independent dials. The lower dial fine-tunes forefoot comfort while the upper dial wraps the shin and calf, giving advanced skiers separate control over top and bottom fit.

C BOA: Features on the Salomon Supra BOA 115 and Supra BOA 130. A single cuff-mounted dial on the upper of the boot with two traditional lower buckles, aimed at skiers who want sharper heel retention and a more unified flex through the boot, without giving up familiar forefoot buckle adjustment.

All three variants share Salomon's EXOWRAP™ ecosystem, where shell and liner work together with the BOA® cable to wrap the foot, plus Custom Shell HD heat-moulding for a personalised fit.

Standard ski boot buckles pull the two lower plastic flaps of the shell directly over each other. This motion often crushes the top arch of the foot, cuts off circulation, and lifts the heel inside the boot pocket.

Salomon solved this issue by pairing the BOA® Fit System with the proprietary EXOWRAP™ ecosystem. EXOWRAP™ combines a thinner, overlapping shell design with a purpose-built liner, working together rather than as separate parts. Turning the BOA® dial draws both shell and liner smoothly around the whole foot in a uniform, cylindrical motion.

This cylindrical wrapping action pulls the forefoot back into the heel pocket without creating painful downward bite points. The foot remains secure, improving lateral stability, edge-to-edge responsiveness, and blood circulation on freezing mountain descents.

• H+i1 Micro-Adjustable Dial: The H+i1 dial allows skiers to tighten or loosen the lower shell click by millimeter-precise click in both directions without undoing the entire boot.
• Cold-Weather Grip: The dial's raised, grippable profile is designed to be easy to turn with heavy winter ski gloves on.
• Quick-Release Pull Tab: Pulling the dial upwards releases all cable tension instantly for rapid shell opening in lift queues or mountain huts.
• Engineered Breakaway Mechanism: The dial cartridge pops out of the bayonet base under violent blunt impacts to prevent plastic damage, snapping back into place by hand on the slope.

Salomon produces BOA®-equipped ski boots in two distinct fit profiles to match different foot widths and instep heights.

The S/Pro Supra suits skiers with standard to slightly wide feet who want balanced hold across the forefoot without pinching the sixth-toe area.

The S/Pro Alpha range targets skiers with narrow feet, shallow insteps, and slim heels who experience foot slope inside standard boots. A single BOA® dial on the cuff replaces the top buckle for even shin and calf wrap, while two lower buckles keep familiar forefoot adjustment.

Professional boot fitters can adapt every structural contact area on both the S/Pro Supra and S/Pro Alpha series:

• Custom Shell HD in 10 Minutes: Boot fitters heat the outer polyurethane shell and cuff in a specialized alpine oven. The customer steps into the heated plastic, allowing the shell to mold precisely to foot contours, navicular bones, and ankle bones as it cools.
• Customisable Tongue Adaptations: The liner tongue can be completely removed, shimmed, or ground down. Skiers with high arches or sensitive instep bones can relieve pressure without losing forward lean control.
• Fully Screwed Hardware Components: The power strap, walk-to-ride soles, metal buckles, pivot pins, and BOA® toothplates use standard screws rather than permanent rivets. Fitters can replace, relocate, or repair every hardware piece easily over the lifespan of the boot.
• Customisable My Exfit 4D Liners: The internal heat-moldable foam liner shapes quickly to the skier's foot, reducing break-in time from several ski days to a single morning on the mountain.
