60 Second Footwear Protection Service

Provided by IMBOX

Looking after your footwear is key when it comes to maintaining its performance and extending the life of the kit you love. That’s why we’re delighted to offer a new fast and effective, environmentally-friendly footwear protection service - available in selected stores across the UK, to help you give your footwear the aftercare treatment it deserves.

What is the service?

It is footwear protection performed inside a closed box machine, in-store, in less than a minute. The world’s most effective, professional-grade footwear protection service prevents damage from water, salt, mud, dust, UV rays, stains and colour fading, achieving a level of footwear protection that’s impossible to match using regular aftercare methods at home. What’s more, it's safe for both you and the environment, thanks to an Allergy Certified liquid that contains neither hazardous nor carcinogenic substances.

How does it work?

Our footwear protection service couldn’t be easier to use. After bringing your footwear into a store, a member of our team will place it inside the machine, close the drawer to create a vacuum chamber, and then select the relevant service programme based on your footwear type. The machine has 6 nozzles that generate a fog that gets drawn down onto the footwear, guaranteeing a smooth and even coverage for the treatment. The process takes just 60 seconds and there are programmes for every type of footwear material – everything from walking boots to trainers, sandals to shoes. A treatment costs just £4.50 and lasts up to 6 weeks (which can be substantially extended by using a top-up spray or sponge proofers as well).

Premium in-store footwear protection

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I use it?

The most sustainable piece of kit is the kit you already own. By using our footwear protection service, you’ll not only help keep your footwear performing at its best, but also extend its life by protecting it against potential damage. Better for you, better for the planet.

Do I need to book the service in advance?

No. You can just bring your footwear directly into a store and ask one of our experts to run the service for you.

Does my footwear need to be clean?

Yes. To get the best protection results, your footwear needs to be clean before being placed inside the machine. They don’t have to be pristine, but please make sure any dried-on dirt is removed from the footwear before bringing it into a store.

How safe is it?

The liquid and machine are produced in Denmark and approved in accordance with strict Danish standards (some of the most comprehensive in the world). The liquid is allergy-approved by AllergyCertified and thoroughly tested. After several million treatments, there have never been any reports of an allergic reaction. The liquid has also been thoroughly tested on its ability to repel all sorts of substances and has achieved the highest rating in efficiency, health, and safety in tests conducted by PFI Pirmasens in Germany - the preferred test institute for the footwear industry.

How much does it cost?

The protection service costs £4.50. It is only possible to place one set of footwear in the machine at a time so whilst you are welcome to bring multiple pairs of footwear in for treatment, each pair will incur a separate charge.

Can I just use the machine myself when I arrive in-store?

Please ask a member of staff when you arrive in-store if you would like to use the footwear protection service. Our in-store experts will be able to check your footwear, advise on the correct programme and operate the machine, and ensure you get the right protection for your footwear.

How long does the treatment last?

The protection lasts up to 6 weeks but is dependent on how often the footwear is worn and the material it is made of. Purchasing a spray or sponge proofers will help you to further maintain the protection at home. Ask our in-store experts about which aftercare spray is most suitable for your footwear.
