The fleece, a soft napped insulated fabric, is one of the go to garments for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether using it as an outer layer during a cool day or a part of a layering system on a cold day
Proper dressing for backcountry riding is a little different to dressing for a day of alpine skiing or snowboarding. While a layering system of base layers, mid layers, and hard shell pants and jackets are good for downhill, you’ll soon find yourself sweaty and overheating as you start your ascent to the top.
Your boots are fitted. You've chosen your board. Now don't forget one of the most important parts of your setup. Your bindings aren't just there to match your boots and board: they connect you to your board, delivering power from your body and controlling how you move.
Your bindings are your connection to your skis, transferring your movements from muscle to slope. This is especially important for alpine touring, and specific AT ski bindings will allow you to lift your heels naturally while ascending uphill and then lock your boots down allowing you to use your regular alpine skiing technique downhill. Used in combination with climbing skins and alpine touring boots, AT bindings making travelling snowy ground fast and efficient.

Avalanche airbag packs are fast becoming popular as more and more skiers and snowboarders are taking to the backcountry to explore untouched terrain. In the event of a slide, you simply pull the handle attached to the shoulder strap and a pressurized cartridge or electric fan inflates the airbag, helping to keep you near the surface of the avalanche and more visible to rescuers.
Planning to sleep under canvas? Then you’ll need the right sleeping bag for your trip. Let us help you stay warm and comfortable so that you're refreshed and raring to go in the morning.
Once you begin taking on more extreme and remote terrain, it’s definitely worth investing in an airbag system; there are several systems available and they all work on similar principles. The pack houses an airbag that can be inflated in the event of an avalanche by pulling an activation handle. During an avalanche, objects with a higher volume will rise towards the surface; the inflation of the airbag increases your volume, helping to keep you as high as possible within the snow structure, increasing your chance of survival.
