Every kid remembers their first sleeping bag. And our children’s sleeping bags are every bit as comfy and warm as the adult range.

Children aged 3 and above can safely use child-specific sleeping bags, as they have better motor skills to unzip themselves and regulate body heat. For children under 3 years, sleeping bags are not recommended due to safety concerns, such as the risk of suffocation or difficulty getting out of the bag independently.
It’s best to choose a sleeping bag designed for children. Adult sleeping bags are too large, creating empty space that can fill with cold air and increase the risk of a child sliding inside, which can be unsafe. Kids’ sleeping bags provide better insulation and a safer, snugger fit for smaller bodies.
Look for a mummy-shaped sleeping bag with high-loft insulation, a hood, and baffles along the zip and neck. These features help retain heat and keep your child warm, especially in colder conditions. Synthetic insulation is practical for most family camping, while down insulation is lighter and warmer but less common and more expensive for kids.
Sleeping bags have season ratings from 1 (summer/indoor use) to 4 (cold winter nights). For summer or indoor camping, a season 1 or 2 bag is sufficient. For autumn or mild winter nights, season 3 is ideal, while season 4 is best for frosty or snowy conditions. Always match the bag’s rating to your expected camping environment.
Sleeping bags are safe for children aged 3 and older when used as intended. Always ensure the bag fits properly, is not too large, and that your child knows how to get in and out. Avoid using sleeping bags for infants or toddlers under 3 years old due to suffocation risks.
Rectangular sleeping bags are roomier and can be opened as blankets, making them suitable for indoor or summer use. Mummy-shaped bags are tapered, have hoods, and offer better heat retention, making them ideal for colder outdoor conditions.
