That's why here at Snow+Rock, we offer a wide range of ski gloves, glove liners, and winter mittens to help you beat the chill, with the best fabrics, thermal technologies, fits, and features to help give you the edge whether you're on the slopes, cycling to work, hiking in the hills, or taking part in an early morning snowball fight on the way to drop the kids off at school!

Here at Snow+Rock, our extensive collection of men’s, women’s and kids’ gloves and mitts are available in various fits, styles, and colours - from an enormous selection of the best performance brands available: like PatagoniaRabThe North FaceReuschBarbourMountain Equipment and many more

Ski gloves are typically constructed with a weatherproof outer shell, insulation, and a soft lining. Common shell materials include nylon, polyester, or leather for abrasion resistance and durability, with waterproof membranes such as Gore-Tex or Dri-Vent layered inside for weather protection.

Gloves offer greater finger dexterity for tasks like adjusting zips or bindings, while mittens provide superior warmth by allowing fingers to share heat. Hybrid “lobster” mitts combine both, grouping fingers for warmth but maintaining some mobility.

Synthetic fills like Primaloft and Thinsulate are popular thanks to their warmth, low weight, and ability to insulate when wet. Natural down provides exceptional warmth but performs best in dry conditions, while some designs blend both materials for balanced performance.

Thinsulate uses ultra-fine microfibres that trap heat in small air pockets, creating efficient warmth without bulk. It retains breathability and flexibility, making it a common choice for lightweight, dexterous ski gloves.

Gore-Tex is a waterproof, windproof, and breathable membrane that keeps moisture out while allowing sweat vapor to escape. It’s a key feature for long ski sessions where both dryness and temperature regulation matter.

Leather gloves, often made from goatskin or cowhide, offer excellent grip, toughness, and long-lasting water resistance when treated. Synthetic gloves weigh less and dry faster, making them ideal for lightweight touring or changing conditions.

Gauntlet gloves have extended cuffs that cover jacket sleeves and seal out snow and wind. They often include drawcord closures or wrist cinches for a secure fit, preferred for powder skiing and cold, deep snow days.

Primaloft uses ultra-fine synthetic fibres designed to mimic down but with better water resistance. It maintains up to 98% of its insulating power when wet, providing warmth, compressibility, and breathability even in damp snow conditions.

Some ski gloves feature removable liners with fleece or wool interiors for versatility. This design improves drying speed, allows custom layering, and extends usability across varying temperatures.

A well-fitted glove allows free finger movement without excess space that can reduce heat retention. Proper fit ensures grip efficiency, insulation performance, and prevents cold air from entering at the cuffs.
