Product information

The name is a bit of a giveaway; the Ultra Fastpack III Shoes are engineered for pacey through-hikes, when you're blurring the boundaries between trail running and hiking. Now they're made from a lightweight, abrasion-resistant woven upper that's optimised for hot-footing it along rough and rugged trails. And for 2020 The North Face have harnessed breathable-waterproof FUTURELIGHT™ technology.

Thanks to a nano-spun membrane, the fabric delivers outstanding breathability, so you can benefit from a waterproof shoe for pacey, any weather hikes without getting hot, sweaty feet. Unlike paved roads, trails can be dusty, rocky, gravelly or wet, slippery, boggy and muddy; the Ultra Fastpack III Shoes take all this in their stride. They feature a gusseted tongue for keeping debris at bay; TPU toe caps minimise the chance of stubbing toes and losing toenails; and the Vibram® Megagrip soles provide traction in all conditions. For cruising-speed comfort you've got OrthoLite™ insoles that retain their cushioning power despite a real pounding. Dual-density FastFoam™ in the midsole provides responsiveness, inherent stability and arch support. EVA foam rubber creates a soft yet energy-returning landing and ESS shanks create torsional rigidity and support over uneven ground.

More about this brand

sr-tnf-brand-page-header

Few brands inspire confidence like The North Face. Year after year they make some of the best ski wear on the market. Bold colours, flattering fits and this year there’s something even more exciting in the line-up, a new fabric they’ve developed to deliver superior comfort, FUTURELIGHT. An added bonus of FUTRELIGHT is its eco-friendly credentials. Recycled materials go into the product, the waterproof coating comes from PFC-free chemicals while the factory is solar powered. The North Face is named after the coldest, most unforgiving side of a mountain. But it was actually founded in 1966 at an altitude of 150 feet above sea level, on a beach in San Francisco’s North Beach area. Their mission is to provide the best gear, support the preservation of the outdoors and inspire exploration. Judging from this year’s collection, which matches style and rugged protection, they’re still very much on track.
