Product information

Like their more rugged sister the L5 FUTURELIGHT Trousers, the L5 Light FUTURELIGHT Trousers defy expectations in the mountains with the highest level of durable, breathable-waterproof protection. They just do so using a featherlight denier. This three-layer shell is more pliable and tactile, and together with the 3D ergonomic design it’s ideal for more dynamic climbs on steeper terrain. Reinforced Kevlar kickpatches stand up against brushes with rock and other pointy mountain tools. Calf-length zips and boot-integrated hems ensure a good fit with a range of different sized mountaineering boots. And if you like carrying essential gear close to hand, the roomy thigh pocket with integrated mesh pocket will come in handy. They also come with their own stuffsack for easy storage in your backpack or on your harness. Summit Series layers all work together for optimum performance in terms of breathability, insulation, weather resistance and moisture management.

More about this brand

Few brands inspire confidence like The North Face. Year after year they make some of the best ski wear on the market. Bold colours, flattering fits and this year there’s something even more exciting in the line-up, a new fabric they’ve developed to deliver superior comfort, FUTURELIGHT. An added bonus of FUTRELIGHT is its eco-friendly credentials. Recycled materials go into the product, the waterproof coating comes from PFC-free chemicals while the factory is solar powered. The North Face is named after the coldest, most unforgiving side of a mountain. But it was actually founded in 1966 at an altitude of 150 feet above sea level, on a beach in San Francisco’s North Beach area. Their mission is to provide the best gear, support the preservation of the outdoors and inspire exploration. Judging from this year’s collection, which matches style and rugged protection, they’re still very much on track.
