General

The Steep Series is The North Face's pinnacle freeriding collection, and at the top end of that collection, the Brigandine Futurelight Jacket is crafted for boundary-pushing big mountain riders. Harnessing seam-sealed Futurelight technology, it’s incredibly breathable for a three-layer waterproof membrane, perfect for steep climbs when your temperature rises. It’s so good, in fact, you won’t have to de-layer.

Then there’s the mechanical stretch and hyper-articulated fit – which come in pretty handy both on the way up and the ride down. And the longer length isn’t just for style, it offers optimal protection from the elements. The helmet-compatible hood is fully adjustable, the collar pockets are ideal for two-way radio storage and the pack-friendly chest pockets have integrated radio loops. Combine with the Brigandine Fututelight Bib Trousers through jacket-to-trouser integration to avoid a back covered in snow when you bail.

About this brand

sr-tnf-brand-page-header

Few brands inspire confidence like The North Face. Year after year they make some of the best ski wear on the market. Bold colours, flattering fits and this year there’s something even more exciting in the line-up, a new fabric they’ve developed to deliver superior comfort, FUTURELIGHT. An added bonus of FUTRELIGHT is its eco-friendly credentials. Recycled materials go into the product, the waterproof coating comes from PFC-free chemicals while the factory is solar powered. The North Face is named after the coldest, most unforgiving side of a mountain. But it was actually founded in 1966 at an altitude of 150 feet above sea level, on a beach in San Francisco’s North Beach area. Their mission is to provide the best gear, support the preservation of the outdoors and inspire exploration. Judging from this year’s collection, which matches style and rugged protection, they’re still very much on track.
