Designed with the view to excel in cold and damp conditions, the Mens Nimbus Jacket from Rab is a superb choice for an insulating layer that can perform in wet and windy situations. With a Pertex Quantum outer fabric, the Nimbus Jacket offers superb wind-proofing while maintaining a high standard of breathability to keep your body temperature controlled when you need it most.
This theme continues with the insulation; rather than using a traditional down insulation that loses loft and warmth when wet, Rab have opted to use a 3M featherless synthetic insulation system that replicates the loft structure of traditional down. This is implemented so as to trap your natural body warmth while maintaining its integrity when damp or wet. This ensures that you maintain the insulating properties of the jacket even if you get caught out in a sudden downpour which is crucial in our British climate.
The hood is a helmet compatible cut which can fit both under or over a helmet depending on personal preference with a stretch peak to keep you sealed off from the elements. The theme of functionality continues with numerous pockets for your possessions while the hand pockets double as a stuff sack for easy and compact storage so you can utilise your pack space to the maximum.
The Mens Nimbus Jacket from Rab is a staff favourite here at Snow + Rock and it’s easy to see why when you get it in your hands. With numerous functional features, as well as great all-weather insulation properties in an affordable package, the Nimbus could be the insulated jacket for your next outdoor adventure.

Rab Carrington built his company on two things: A deep understanding of what climbers and mountaineers need, and a commitment to practical gear that works.
Throughout much of the 1970’s Rab could be found on ground breaking expeditions around the world. From winter climbing in Scotland and the alps, to expeditions in the Himalaya, Rab gained first-hand experience and understanding what climbers need from their kit.
In 1981 the native Scotsman moved to Sheffield to set up Rab. By first deciding how gear should be used, then designing for that use, Rab was able to produce specialist down sleeping bags and jackets with fresh dimension suitable for high performance mountaineering gear, offering products better than any other available at the time.
Jump ahead over 25 years and Rab are still at the forefront of innovation and performance. From their super lightweight bivi bags to tough, waterproof and breathable eVent™ jackets, Rab have created some of the most hardwearing and specialist kit in the world. Rab are still to this day designed and produced within the UK, using the highest quality, lightweight materials to create award winning products; and are ceaselessly committed to Rab’s exacting standards, ingenuity and pioneering spirit.
