The Men's Trousers No. 27 are advanced trekking pants for demanding outdoor activities all year round. Their design is based on Gaiter Trousers No. 1, but they do not have the gaiter function or the same heavy reinforcements, making them lighter and cooler to wear. Just like their sister model, they are durable outdoor trousers suitable for year-round use. When the temperature drops, they can be worn over a base layer. The zips along the thighs can be opened to release excess heat.
Two large leg pockets – one of which has an inside pocket for a telephone – with room for maps, compasses, etc. There are also hand pockets and rear pockets. The leg endings, as with the Gaiter Trousers, have a hidden boot hook that can be fastened to boot laces, and a pair of eyelets to which laces or metal hoops can be attached – yet another way to fasten the trouser leg and prevent brush or snow from finding its way into the boot shaft.
The trousers are made from wind and water resistant G-1000 Eco in recycled polyester and organic cotton with reinforcements in the form of double layers of fabric over the rear, knees and hems.
The fabric and details were chosen to minimise their impact on the environment – for example most of the leather details are made from leftover pieces of leather – and to make it easy to replace exposed sections after years of use.
