The Men's Down Trousers No. 1 are durable and multi-faceted trekking trousers with removable down shorts – a flexible design during the colder months of the year. When the down shorts are in place, the trousers become suitable for long days outdoors, and without them they become a pair of well-ventilated trousers suitable for higher activity levels and milder temperatures. The shorts can be used separately as a reinforcement garment during breaks or while in the tent. The trousers are made from wind and water resistant G-1000 Eco fabric and are reinforced with G-1000 HeavyDuty over the rear, knees and leg endings. The shorts are made of nylon and can be attached to the trousers' lining using a hidden zip.
The outer trousers have two large map pockets with flaps, one of which has an inside telephone pocket. There are also rear pockets and hand pockets. The pre-shaped knees have openings for knee pads, an extra accessory. The crotch and inside of the thighs are seamless to reduce the risk of chafing. The waist is cut high at the back and has reinforced brace zones and buttons for braces. Zipped openings from the side of the knee down simplify putting on and taking off. Leg endings can be adjusted with press buttons.
The G-1000 trousers are wind and water resistant and can be waxed for enhanced protection against the elements and wear.
