The North Face Base Camp Messenger Bag Medium
Great, stylish and sturdy bag, very practical and useful
I bought this bag for my other half to replace their everyday bag, which they put their tablet, keys, wallet, over-ear headphones and jumper in and so on. I bought the medium bag at first as it was on sale. I love it. It has so many pockets and padded section inside, perfect for a laptop. The colour is beautiful, a proper red. He said the medium was too big (it is a bit - it could be a perfect school bag, capable of carrying A4 folders and the like) and I seriously considered keeping it for myself (I am a rucksack person though).
I then exchanged it for a small, which is still a very useful size. We went away this week, and it was carrying shoes, and scarves and jumpers as well as the essential phones, wallet, keys, headphones.
The best thing about buying this bag was the customer service at the London Victoria store. Very helpful and giving practical advice. When I went to exchange the M for an S, the sales assistant price matched the bag and that saved me money.
The bag is VERY comfortable to wear. I usually hate messenger bags but I was carrying it fully loaded for a few hours yesterday fine.
All in all, a good, useful and comfortable bag. My other half loves it and thinks it looks great. He has been getting a lot of compliments too.

North face is the best
I have a number of north face products because the quality is so good. The bag itself has a number of different pockets and useful compartments. You are able to fitted quite a lot inside from a laptop, a4 folder, diary, ipad, etc. With the durable material there is no concerns getting wet!

Practical, Durable and Red.
Firstly, I don't use this bag for extravagant situations. It simply holds all my work and pro audio equipment (I'm a sound recordist) for me when I'm out and about... nothing fancy. Why did I get this bag and not a 'generic' use bag? Well I was sick of getting a bag that couldn't really handle constant use and would break after a year no matter how well I kept it. I went for this bag with the intention that it should outlive me.
It looks like it can take a beating from the most severe conditions [Note: not the equipment inside, it has no padding] and the clips and velcro that fasten it up are big, bulky and ready for action in the army, you don't need to worry that this bag will accidentally open during a tumble or a scrape.
Ample space inside to fit all my equipment (and my packed lunch) with a nice little organiser attached to the inside that can be used to sore various small items.
This bag is not (most likely) as light as similar sized general use bags but its no heavyweight either compared to other 'extremely pro' bags that are used for hiking etc. I wear it all day many days without feeling any weight as such unlike some bags I have had in the past where I had to keep switching which side it was on due to them hurting after a while.
I can see how the "organiser" inside the bag may annoy some people as it cannot be removed, this is not an issue for me because it simply does not get in the way. So the only flaw I can find in it is that there is no zips, pouches or anything else on the outside of the bag. meaning that you have to unclip and open up the whole front flap (love that loud velcro sound) to get to anything out of it, good for keeping out thieves, not so good for "quick I need to swap this SD card" situations.
Its a great bag and even if I haven't been to the top of a mountain with it I know quality when I use it. I would expect you wouldn't loose it in the snow, its so red.
