A popular duffel for a reason: Excellent quality I was initially sceptical about purchasing the duffel bag, because I kept seeing the bag being used by people in the city as a gym bag / fashion bag. I didn't wish to be purchasing an item that was considered trendy, and therefore perhaps overpriced with a relatively poor performance. The appearance of the bag did appeal to me, but I was determined to find an alternative. However, after looking at the quality and features of other make duffel bags, I was drawn back to the North Face duffel. The North Face duffel felt durable, constructed from excellent quality materials, and I had consistently heard positive reviews about the North Face duffels from outdoor enthusiasts, who sometimes admitted to owning a couple of such duffels. I was lucky enough to purchase the duffel on a promotion, which made it excellent value for money, in comparison to other duffel bags. One of the key features of the small duffel are the rucksack shoulder straps. These are padded, and can be adjusted to fit, so that the bag can be worn as a rucksack. This was a deciding feature for me. I struggled to find another make duffel in a similar style and in size small, which had such straps. Although the straps are excellent and enable the bag to be carried on the back, I would not recommend this type of bag instead of a rucksack. The bag does not have a waist belt, in order to stabilise the duffel on the back or to distribute the weight of the bag on to the hips. This means that the full weight of the bag sits on the shoulders, which after a prolonged period of time and with a full bag, can start to become uncomfortable. The bag is also rather limited in terms of small pockets. There is one internal small pocket, but otherwise the bag is simply one large compartment. This has its positives and negatives, depending on your need / use of the duffel. Otherwise, this duffel bag is excellent quality, with tough, durable, waterproof material, a reinforced based, good quality straps for carrying and shoulder straps for the back. Top Quality All Rounder I originally bought this for hand luggage for a ski trip and it was great. I have since used it everyday as a gym bag and even taken it to the beach. It is a great all rounder and can hold a lot of stuff without feeling too large and bulky. It is also really well made and will hopefully gives years of regular service. It was quite pricey but still value for money in my opinion. 26 July 2012

Top product, well built, good value, looks cool. I have now bought 3 North Face duffel products and each one has proven its self time and time again. The build quality and the timeless design make these a must for any active individual. Slightly more expensive than your standard sports bag but some much more for your money. 01 July 2012
