Great shoe fits well This is my second pair of these shoes - they are brilliant off road, never rub me and feel great. They are really grippy in snow as well as mud. They wear badly if you end up doing lots road running in them but that's to be expected. 07 April 2014
Great grippy gear! Looking for trail running shoes to replace some aged Salomon shoes to use at the Killerton offroad 5km Parkrun and various East Devon trails, I finally settled on these Sportiva shoes based on super comfortable fit in the shop and very grippy looking soles. They performed well at the next muddy Parkrun coping with slippery grass sections and providing plenty of confidence on the downhill stretches. The next test, trail running round Moel Famau in N Wales in freezing conditions was even better, very comfortable on the trails and very grippy ascending/descending the summit, on a par with climbing boots. I'm delighted with performance and comfort so far, the only issue may the the mesh cover over the laces which makes it hard to ensure laces are tensioned correctly especially with cold fingers! Oh and I miss the Salomon quick lace system! But overall, a great trail running shoe. 15 January 2014
Good multiterrain shoe These are the next step down from an all-out fell shoe and give confidence over slippery conditons while are reasonably good on tarmac and compacted dry trails. It does, however only have a minimal amount of cushioning, so while the sole will be able to handle quite long distances over tarmac your feet may be complaining afterwards. The thin foam layers in the upper mean that the shoe does not pick up too much water when crossing streams and bogs and the outer surface appears to be durable. The shoes clean well and dry fairly rapidly and the colour scheme does not get stained the first time you take them our on the hills. 27 November 2012
The missing link! I have tried Adidas Swoop, Inov8 and Salomon and these are by far the most comfortable I've tried. For my feet they just worked. The adidas were fairly comfortable but too narrow. The Inov8 had amazing grip but a very narrow heelcup that shredded my heels and the Salomon were very comfortable but were too high and too cushioned for true fell use (you'll really damage your ankles). So if you are a "larger person", with broad feet looking to do a mountain marathon then I would highly recommend these! 08 October 2012
