From the highest reaches of the Himalayas, the Sherpa people lead the world in mountaineering with warmth, grace and good humour. There is no better palce on earth for testing equipment - and character.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE SHERPA

Founded in 2003 by Tashi Sherpa, Sherpa Adventure Gear manufacturers apparel for mountain and outdoor adventures in Nepal.

The company employs over 150 people in Nepal, and in 2009, furthered its local commitment when it opened its downtown Kathmandu headquarters, which houses its offices, a flagship store and The Terrace bed and breakfast. Two more stores opened in 2010, in Namche and Pokhara, Nepal. Here at Snow+Rock we're now proud to bring this brand to our stores in the UK.

MADE IN NEPAL. JUST LIKE US

Saying "Made in Nepal" means the world to us socially, economically and environmentally. We are Sherpa-owned, Sherpa-run, and pleased to report that most of our garments and hats come to you from our production centre in Kathmandu.

WALKING GENTLY ON THE EARTH

From the summit of Everest, one now looks down on shrinking glaciers. So we demand the latest in eco-friendly fabrics and packaging, and strive to reduce our footprint in shipping and manufacturing.

A MODERN BRAND. AN ANCIENT PHILOSOPHY

Sherpa Adventure Gear is conceived of a humble philosophy and spiritual lifestyle unique to the people of Nepal. This is not a pose by some global company trying to dress in fake humility. It is an odyssey of the heart.

WALKING GENTLY ON THE EARTH

Since many Sherpa climbers are gravely injured or lose their lives while working in the mountains, we give a portion of every sale to the Paldorje Education Foundation for scholarships and much-needed programmes to benefit Sherpa children. By wearing Sherpa gear, you do a genuine kindness to the families of Nepal
