Glossary

Calf leather:A high quality leather of 2.4mm to 2.6mm in thickness, ideal for fell or lighter weight hillwalking boots, which require less bedding in.
GORE-TEX Performance Comfort Footwear lining:A lining that offers durable waterproof protection and is moderately insulated for changing conditions. It provides the optimal combination of breathability and insulation to keep feet warm and dry.
Vibram? Biometric sole unit:Lightweight yet extremely sturdy sole anatomically designed for increased comfort.
LBE Last:Similar to the BD last but specific for women's fit. Allows for exceptional foot-hold and has enough volume to allow for modern levels of cushioning to be incorporated within the boot, thus enabling both greater instant comfort and all day performance. The proportions of this last differ from the BD last in that it has a narrower heel and proportionally broader forefoot.
Heel Tension System:An innovative system applied to the heel area of the upper that offers great stability and adaptability to the severe stress derived from steep routes.
Ankle Padding System:Made of a special "MEMORY FOAM" padding, this system improves the self-moulding properties of the rear part of the upper. This technical solution is very light and breathable, and keeps its dynamic memory in terms of last and thickness so it recovers its original shape after every use.
Autofit Collar:The ergonomic design and special padding of the collar ensures the maximum adaptability and comfort of the upper, and helps reduce the impact stress on the Achilles and malleous area for great performance and comfort on any terrain.
V-Flex System:The ergonomic design of the upper ankle flex area allows a wider and more natural movement of the foot, so that the upper can adapt itself to the movement of the foot, even when walking on steep routes with heavy packs. The upper, in synergy with the lacing system, wraps the foot in an optimal way, offering the maximum comfort and support.
Speed Lacing System:Integrated with the ergonomic design of the upper, this lacing system allows the optimal adjustment of the internal volumes of the shoe and the perfect wrapping of the foot, in a simple and quick way. This makes the fit more precise and customised for maximum confidence on any terrain.
Activ Fit technology:Provides a new level of instant, out of the box comfort and performance, ensuring the foot stays continually supported and secure.
Activ Fit Sockliner:Moulded sock liner developed specifically for women that is made using a combination of a breathable textile, a moulded insulating layer, and Viscoflex? memory foam for better cushioning and low compression.
