Rated 5 out of 5Â by Aar21 Only briefly tested, but holding up nicely Bought these boots as I was looking for a GOOD quality durable boot. The features that drew me in were the thick leather uppers, the rubber protective ring, the vibram sole, the high ankle and the good quality. There is no waterproof system inside these boots, which have failed me in the past. There is just the leather barrier. I have only tested these over 4-5 hiking days but so far so good. The lacing system is nice with the rotating wheel inside the lacing fixings. I walked through two or three streams and my feet were bone dry. This weekend a torrential downpour occurred for most of my hike. My feet did get wet but I think this was from the top (sock) down. I will need to instigate this next time out. These boots are expensive but I would rather pay extra for well made sturdy boots then waste money on a cheaper alternative. Happy so far. 14 September 2015
Rated 5 out of 5Â by avh68 expensive but worth it! Just taken the new boots for a try-out in the Lakes. Excellent comfort and grip giving real confidence on tricky bits and helping sustain the stamina. So waterproof that paddling is an easy option for stream crossing. Why this boot? It's the successor design to the last two pairs I have had; the last pair I gave up when the soles were so worn that grip became an issue. I like the stiffness of the sole and the firmness of the uppers both because they help on steep slopes, and they are wonderful for the arthritis in my feet (because the foot scarcely has to bend). I also like the ankle support - it has saved many a twist. The new design is wider than before making it easier to get the boot on and off, but in the same size boot I need an additional thin sock and the extra width lacks elegance! Perhaps one (continental) size down would have been worth a try. All perfect? No - they use Vibram for the sole (doesn't everybody?) - desperate on polished wet limestone. 18 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5Â by Ricky6386 Great Boot! Needed/wanted a B1 rated boot and after looking at several I went for these. High pricetag but the quality is phenominal. Took them out on a full day around striding edge and helvellyn on the first outing and they were comfortable from the off, stiff but still responsive. One piece leather design is great and the lace system works a treat. Can't recomment these enogh, treat yourself! Oh and I pricematched with go outdoors which the store was more than happy to do. 05 May 2015

Rated 5 out of 5Â by higgipau A remarkable product I had a lot of trouble finding a pair of walking boots for my trip to Bhutan but the team in the Covent Garden store went to all lengths to find the right pair. Despite being concerned about the possible pressure points in the toe area due to the unusual dimensions of my feet, the boots are nothing short of remarkable! To see them you might be worried they are very heavy to walk in, but to break them I ran one thousand metres in the gym without any trouble and then took them up to the Tiger's Nest monastery for the first proper trail. 21 July 2014
Rated 4 out of 5Â by Kuk71 Very good robust mountain walking boot Very well made and robust mountain walking boot. Very good insulation to keep feet warm when winter walking and snow shoeing. Best suited to rugged terrain: I found on long flat-ish walks in to the mountain the stiffness in the boot is a little uncomfortable but they are still fairly new; I am sure this will ease off with more wearing in. 22 February 2014
