Salomon Women's X Pro 90 W 2015
best boots ever
After hiring boots for many years and changing at least twice in the holiday week, i decided to buy my own.Because of high arches and large carfs i went to snow and rock at Birmingham picked my boots and had them fitted to me by the excellent staff there. After the heating and cooling i found a pair of boots that fitted like a glove and so enjoyed my skiing holiday 100%.

The best ski boots I've ever had!
I've owned and tried a fair few ski boots and these are by far the best I have ever had. I purchased the boots a few weeks before my ski holiday and at the time the inner boots were heat moulded to my feet for no additional cost. I was advised to try the boots on the Chill Factore slope and did. I had a few problems with them and took them back to be refitted. One of the staff members examined my feet and re moulded the outer shell of the boot.
The fact that they can be customised to your feet so thoroughly is a big advantage with these boots. They are now so comfortable! Almost like wearing slippers (and I never thought I'd say that about ski boots)
I was told that if I had any further problems I could pop back in at any time. All of this for no extra charge.
They're a great fairly stiff boot, perfect for my standard of skiing.

No more sore feet!!
I was quite unsure whether buying my own boots would be the right thing to do, as you never really know how your feet will feel at the end of the week....and by then it's too late to change!!
However, my worries were completely unnecessary, as having purchased the Salomon Women's X Pro 90 Boots in white (matching my salopettes, which always helps!!!), I have never had a week's skiing with such comfort......NO MORE SORE FEET!!
Thank you Snow & Rock for your expertise with fitting and providing the right boots :)

Made so You Want to Move
There was a possibility that I decided to purchase these boots out of some hyper estastic mood that I found myself in on returning from a Propaganda Snowboards skiing trip to Slovakia. There was even the chance that I was merely following the advice of someone on that trip, instead of considering whether I would actually use the boots as an advanced skier should. Nevertheless, driven by a childlike enthusiasm, I left Snow and Rock with a pair of Salomon X Pro 90's. And my feet? They have never felt better.
Having not been skiing since Hemel's snow was decidely not snow at all, but a spiky carpet my friends refused to touch, I was either reliving my teenage adventures, or I was an expert skier returning after a long hiatus. Informing people that I had last skied on a black run, I was told I was the latter by several individuals, namely Snow and Rock's staff. Now certain this was a ploy to get me to return to buy the professionally fitted boots I left on hold, I am glad I fell for it. I'm sure that when I return to Slovakia to ski day in, day out, my feet will ache and my legs will burn once more, and I'll realise part of my problem is an appaling fitness level...but at least I will be able to walk from one chair lift to another, or from the chalet to the warmth of the bars. I might not feel like half of my energy is being used to ensure that, once my toes hit the ground, they aren't rolled backward by boots that refuse to let me move.
And that is the one term I can use to summarise these boots. They let me move. More than that, they let me want to move. The tough, inner liners of rented boots leave me choosing, sometimes subconsciously, to keep my legs still, my thighs away from the front of the boots, but these Salomon boots mean I really don't care. I will move my legs around, press my thighs to the front of the boots and I won't wish I had less fat/muscle for the rims of the boot to squeeze. Salomon have designed this boot and its 3D liner for all-day comfort, and I feel nothing less. As the instep buckle can be adjusted to 3 different positions, plus Snow and Rock mould the boot to fit, and the insole can be moulded too, this boot is not a let down. If you can't ski comfortably, and you're too exhausted, regardless of your fitness level, to walk from the chalet to the chair lift, you'll find youself waiting for the chance to sit down, instead of being eager to do your sport. This is the same for shoes across all sports, be it climbing, trekking or skiing.
I used to work at Cotswold Outdoor. I have seen the reaction on customers' faces when they try on that long-awaited boot that is going to push away all their aches and pains. I am sure that every time I sit on that drag lift and shuffle to the top of the slope, I am at the pinnacle of that expression. Who knew, you can be comfortable in ski boots after all.
Note about the below: I'm told that I am an 'advanced' skier because I have skied a few black ski runs. However, I would feel slightly narcissistic if I selected the 'expert' skier option. So I've selected intermediate. It means that I can ski badly and no one will complain.

These boots are great, so comfortable without being too soft. Flex 90 is perfect for intermediate-advanced skiers. So thankful to snow and rock for helping me choose these great boots for me wide feet!!!!!!

Very happy with these boots
After 5+ visits to my local Snow & Rock store for fittings & finally making the decision to purchase these boots, I was very happy with the fit & performance. Always difficult to tell until you are actually skiing, but I had no problems with my feet all week, and was actually happy to put them on in the mornings after skiing all day the day before (this has never happened before). The boys in my local store were very patient & happy to help every time I went in, so I felt very well looked after & nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for their own boots.

These boots took a long time to fit - many thanks to the S&R staff who persevered - but it was worth it in the end
