Pro board that will last as you learn. This is my first board, but wanted to get something that I wouldn't grow out of quickly, and this is PERFECT in that respect. It's a pro quality board, SUPER fast, and very stable. The build quality is very good, but then this is one of the more expensive boards so you do pay for it...But if you're after a board you can keep and learn and grow with over a good few years (like I am, see below), then it's worth shelling out for something of this quality, definitely. The reviews I'd read said it was a park/pipe board which was still decent for all-mountain riding, and I'd definitely agree with that. If you're into the freestyle side of things, there's tonnes of pop for ollying and the overall stability is a massive plus for landings. But so far, I've just been having a lot of fun just carving turns and improving my technique, this board is good for just plain riding too. For clarity, I'm a beginner/intermediate - can already ride a board comfortably and just starting out learning some freestyle technique. So, I can't speak for anyone more advanced than me, but I would definitely recommend this board for anyone who's a beginner and looking to get into freestyle as well as improve their general technique. It may be a big jump to go for this as your first board (especially if you buy something on the upper size limit for your height like I have - just wanted to make sure I wouldn't grow out of it speed-wise in the near future), but I feel like I'm learning lots and challenging myself by not getting an 'easy' board. I guess if you're not into the idea of freestyle then there are better boards that'll give you more speed or possibly even better performance on the average kind of all-mountain run. But if you even have a small interest in getting a few tricks under your belt, I can't see how you could wrong with this board. The main thing I would say is to choose a size appropriate to what you want to do on a board in terms of learning new stuff - if you're keen to take it as far as you can and maximise the lifetime of the board for yourself, a bigger size will get you there (i.e. more speed for takeoffs, more stability for landings, etc), but if you just want to have some nice easy fun rides then a smaller version of this board will suit you. Either way, I'm recommending it. 07 July 2014
Awesome!! So far the Ride Buckwild has been a brilliant board! It is very responsive and brilliant in the park and just for all mountain riding! as it's predominantly a park board it obviously isn't as good in powder as a powder board, however still handles it okay! good pop and holds an edge well. And you can't beat the graphics. I would highly recommend the Ride Buckwild! 24 March 2014

This All mountain freestyle Twin is a stable and powerful board popular with the Ride Pro team. What makes it so magnetic to the Pros is the long, stable flat base that slightly lifts at the contact points. This means it capable of handling high speeds and choppy terrain but is nice and forgiving for jibbing and generally getting away with murder in the park. It’s medium to stiff flex also make it great for supporting off centre landings on jumps and superb for riding the pipe too. For durability on rails and general abuse the Buckwild uses a rubber compound in the sidewals called Slimewall that is shock absorbent and Cleave edges that again have been overbuilt for this purpose. A firm favorite amongst serious freestylers.

Glossary

Twin RockerThis twin shape has minimal rocker featuring a long, stable flat zone that extends well beyond the inserts into the tip and tail.
SlmewallsRide’s exclusive Slimewalls® are forgiving and ductile, absorbing impacts rather than defending against them. Just like your skate wheels, the urethane in Slimewalls® smoothes the interaction with the snow, wood or metal surfaces you may Ride on. On top of all that, these babies are virtually indestructible, the most durable sidewalls in snowboarding.
Carbon Array 3This power distribution technology provides total board control in every stance location. 3 widespread carbon stringers placed at the binding zone gather input from any stance width and all pressure angles. Rider input is then channeled to the opposing contact point for maximum board control.
Pop Rods 2.0More pop and smoother landings without added stiffness. Available in 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0.
Cleave EdgeNearly 50% more steel, delivers unmatched resistance to edge cracking and can be detuned to larger radii.
