Red Chili Spirit Velcro Impact Rock Shoe
Surprisingly good for narrow feet
Comfy and surprisingly easy to fit for my very narrow feet. I didn't expect a Velcro shoe to work with my narrow toes, but these fit nicely with no bulging in the toe box. Would probably fit wider feet too though- i have the velcro tightened as far as it'll go. Have worn them 3 times and they perform how they should so far on outdoor and indoor climbs. My first pair of shoes so not much to compare with for the rubber, but they seem to work for me.

Nice comfy show with good rubber
I am a fairly new climber, and my first pair of shoes caused a lot of discomfort. When I bought these shoes I was worried that being comfy meant a loss of control or feeling, but that is not the case at all.

Reasonable shoes for bouldering and wall work
Neither terribly stuff not particularly soft, can smear and edge but better on pockets and micro features. Reasonably comfortable for those with a larger foot and Velcro closure is both comfortable and convenient.

perfect first shoe
i have been wearing the red chilli spirit vcr's for about a month now and have so far been greatly impressed by the build quality and looks of the shoes. i have seen a drastic improvement in my climbing since buying them, and the fact that snow and rock price match means that they are as good a value as you can possibly get. would probably move on to a more advanced shoe next time but will definitely keep these for comfort on longer climbs.

Good starter shoe
First pair of climbing shoes, spoke to the guys in-store and tried a few different pairs. Unless you're replacing an old pair, definitely worth going to store and trying them on, I ended up downsizing 2 sizes.
3 velcro straps hold really well and allow you to vary tightness along the shoe.
good sole, good fit, happy climbing

A great fairly technical all rounder
I keep trying different rock shoes but am now on my fourth pair of Spirits.
Firstly, they fit me well. I can climb in them all day with little discomfort and they easily cope with the modest grades I climb at (F6b / 6c).
The Velcro can be cranked tight for harder bouldering or left more loose for comfort or a rest and has never lost its grip or undone unexpectedly.
I mainly use these boots for cragging ( multipitch VS - E1 ) and they work really well for me on longer alpine rock routes ( 10 - 20 pitches F6a ). I am sure they can climb harder than I currently do.
A couple of years ago I did find the build quality fell and I wore through a pair quite quickly ( 9 months but with a lot of use ), the new model I now have has been fine so far and looks and feels a better build quality again.

Good starter shoe...
Like all beginner climbers I went through the toes of this shoe within 8-9 months - but that was more my scrambling technique than the quality of shoes.
These were very comfortable and I really prefer the Velcro to laces. Only problem I found was smell, the material they're made from seems to unavoidably retain a bad odour.

I bought these as an upgrade from some very cheap entry level shoes. The difference in every aspect is incredible. Needless to say, these might not be for everyone based solely on the individual fit, but certainly ones to try before going ahead with a purchase. The Velcro 'laces' mean the fit is nice and snug, and the slightly more pointed toe works really well for me. Having bmc discount also meant the sting was taken out of the price a little as well. Very happy!
