Icebreaker Men's Blast Long Sleeve Zip
Disappointed With the Fit
I recently purchased (and returned) the Blast Long Sleeve Zip in Cactus, size XL to use for both running and cycling. I'm 6'3", 195lbs and have an athletic build. I love Icebreaker gear because of the quality and fit (which is usually slim with long arms) but this garment had more of what I like to call an "American" fit...wider in the torso and short arms (especially considering this is listed as a biking jacket). I hope this is just a sizing anomaly for this specific jacket and not a developing trend for the company.

I liked it so much I bought two. Great breathability, shrugs off light rain, great for travel, active sports. Have worn it nearly every day on a spring trip to Europe with just a light shirt underneath, and on early morning mountain hikes when the temperature was just above freezing with just a merino t-shirt underneath. The black color is subdued for travel, while the "cactus/panther" color provides great visibility for cool/cold weather cycling.

I usually do not like garments with a flap in the back, and I was a little apprehensive about ordering a light weight shell for walking. I am not a runner, so I do not generate that much body heat. But, the merino inner works great with a light layer underneath. The wind protection adds to the warmth. This outer layer fits good, too. It is just tight enough, but not too tight so it looks good too! On a warmer day, it keeps me comfortable when the temperature changes going in and out of the shade. I am pleasantly satisfied with this very functional and pretty good looking outer layer.

Go-To for Cold Wx Running
This jacket quickly became my go-to jacket for cold weather running (30F and below). It's built to not be noticed; no binding or gathering of fabric and no weird "whisk" sounds. I only wish I had ordered this jacket at the beginning of this very cold winter. I would have been a happier runner.
