Zips look like they'll last a while and the outside chest pocket is really useful. When you want to retrieve your wallet or a pass for example it saves you from having to unzip the jacket and be exposed to wind/cold/rain.
I've found the chest pocket to be invaluable, great place to put my wallet because it's independent of the side pockets of course and can be securely fastened with the zip . It means I'm never worried about inadvertently pulling the wallet out when I remove my hands from the side pockets. I have a TNF liner for colder weather (below 10C-12C) which keeps me nice and toasty and is very easy to zip into the outer. Not warm enough for really extreme cold but mine is on the looser side so I can put a body warmer underneath which extends the cold range a little. This is the second 3 in 1 North face I've had the first one lasted over 10 years, hopefully this'll last as long!

Bought this in advance of the cold weather that's just around the corner. I've been wearing the inner liner on slightly warmer days without the outer shell and it's great. It also has an inner pocket that allows you to back it away into a bag. Hand warmer pockets are great too
Outer shell is nothing short of amazing. So much attention to detail, rugged construction. Just wore it in a rainstorm and I'm dry as a bone.
I would say that the fit is quite large. I'm very tall and the medium still has sleeves that reach down to cover my wrist with room to spare.
It also helps that I got this in the Snow & Rock sale so saved a few quid - thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Soop Top quality jacket with a fitted, stylish cut
I got this jacket at a sale price of £325 (normally £440). Even at the sale price it was a little more than I was hoping to have to spend, but it was worth every penny.
Having had the jacket for a few weeks now I'd gladly pay the full retail price in a heartbeat.
It's an extremely well-made coat, stylishly cut. I wanted a more fitted coat rather than a huge, bulky coat for scaling Everest. Whilst still a high performance jacket it's also perfectly suited for urban use, which is what I wanted.
All the stitching and seams are very well made and the coat just screams quality.

I liked the jacket for its versatile functionality. It is perfectly presentable over a work suit but is also able to cater for attending a rugby match on an icy day.
It has great storage pockets internally and externally. It is lightweight and as warm as toast when needed. It is great for travel as it can be separated into two jackets which compress and pack neatly away.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by domffc Very warm and not at all bulky. patagonia has great fit around the arms and back which is hard to find!
Would really recommend this jacket. Light weight. Extremely warm. Waterproof. The removable down I new was the selling point for me and the fit is superb. I'm 6 ft 1 with a slender build dnd medium fits me to perfection with space for an if it's really cold. However just a t shirt has sufficed for me even when the temperature gets just below freezing ( the coldest temperature I have worn it in. Patagonia are also an ethical sound brand unlike other bigger clothing companies. Looks smart in a casual or more formal attire. Looked around a lot before buying and this was the one. I don't regret my decision.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Dave74 great value for money
Definitely the best parka I've had so far, warm light and protective.
It's in pure patagonia style, strongly recommended.
I probably would not use this for sport activities, as it looks bulky and not transpirant enough (I have my old infurno jacket for this) but as an all days winter jacket it's perfect.
