Bonfire Men's Nelson Jacket 5 5 4 4
Very well made This is a very stylish jacket with well designed features. The pockets are well placed and the ski pass holder is on the sleeve, very handy and easy to scan. 05 May 2015
Top Standard Tried this jacket out last season and it was just what I was after. Not heavy or bulky which is ideal for travelling. Also suiteable for UK weather. Deals wth rain and wet snow extremely well. On mountain kept a good temperature without being over bearing. Great breathability 02 March 2015
Great jacket, clever design features Some very nice design features. Neck can be enlarged when hood is up with a helmet. Loads of pockets. Goggles sleeve in inside pocket. Tough material looks good and should last well. 10 February 2015
Great, high performance product I've just returned from a week away in Austria, where I was snowboarding in temperatures between -8C and -16C, with heavy snow for most of the week. Although the jacket isn't the warmest with it being a shell, it was more than capable of keeping the elements out. I was off-piste in deep powder regularly and never once felt as though the jacket was letting moisture in. Additionally, despite having a number of layer under the jacket, I rarely felt too hot, but the zip vents soon lowered the temperature when things got a bit warm (when I was sat on the shuttle bus). There are an impressive amount of storage pockets, including a handy internal pocket that is accessible through a zip on the outside, without having to open the jacket. Useful if you've got your phone or MP3 player on the slopes. Overall a top quality product that is well made and not overly bulky, with unbeatable waterproof and breathability rating for the price. 02 February 2015

Glossary

Breathability Rating:Breathability is measured as a rating in grams of how much vapour a square metre of fabric will allow to pass through in 24 hours (g/m2/24). For general use, 10000g/m2/24 and above is desirable. It should be noted that breathable fabrics do not stop you sweating and care should be taken as to clothing worn beneath waterproof/breathable shells. High quality base layers and fleece or insulated midlayers should in themselves draw vapour from the body and pass it outwards, thus allowing the outer fabric to do its job. Cotton clothing should never be worn as part of a performance clothing layering system.
Waterproof Rating:This is measured and expressed as Hydrostatic Head in millimetres (mm). To find out the Hydrostatic Head of a fabric the manufacturer will take a clear tube and clamp their material over the bottom end. They will then fill the tube slowly with water and watch to see how high the column of water can get before the material lets drips through. The higher the hydrostatic head, the better the water protection. The European Standard a fabric must meet to be classified as waterproof is a Hydrostatic Head rating of 1500mm, and on average, outerwear fabrics tend to have a hydrostatic head of 10000mm and above.
DWR (Durable Water Repellent):A DWR-treated fabric will bead-up water on its surface to stop it from soaking into the fibres. This maintains breathability and shortens drying times.
