Volkl Bridge (Ski Only) 2015 5 5 1 1
Fantastic all round ski for someone looking to attack the whole mountain After great research I bought these skis in December. Ski wise I consider myself a confident intermediate, I go once a year and completed a season in 2013. I bought this ski based on its versatility. I love to ski all areas and 'mess around' with any natural lips/kickers etc. The group I ski with are a mix of piste skiiers and park snowboarders so the terrain changes a lot and I needed a ski to hold up on everything thrown at it.........and that's what the Bridge does! Piste - Excellent hold, good speed, good stability without the nasty chattering, competent at both short and long turns. I enjoy long fast carving #previous skis were Dynastar Course# and I was surprised at the hold these skis give and confidence increases the more you ski them. Off Piste - Nice float, easy turning, cuts through crud. Great fun, if your used to a top powder ski you may find these a little tougher but still perform very well and offer great option to switch straight from piste to off piste with ease. Limited off piste this year so will update when possible. Park - #im still a novice here but trying to learn# - Stable, good landing point, good turning radius for the size #I have 190s#, easy switches and to skis switch. Still unable to conquer rails so cant comment here. Pros - Versatility, stability, fun, look great. Ski shorter than they are. Fairly light. Cons - limited sizes. I am 6'1 and 83 kg and bought 190s as 179s too small and concerned about chattering at that length. Overal- 9/10. Absolutely love the ski, feel I finally have a one ski quiver! By all means you will find a better carver or off piste ski but not one that can do both and offer park option too. Sizes are limited, my suggestion is go bigger rather than smaller if unsure as they ski shorter and will last you as you age and spend more time on Piste. Glossary

Multi layer woodcore:In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance
Full rocker:A smooth, gradual bend from tip to tail, with matching sidecut and flex. Extended Low Profile (ELP) gives the skier all the benefits of added manoeuvrability in soft snow while also delivering smooth, graceful arcs on groomed terrain.
