MSR Hubba NX

MSR Hubba NX 4.5 5 2 2
I bought this tent today I bought this tent today under their price pledge, saved 20 quid, so it’s going well I bought this tent for my 8 month trip around Africa I am hoping it lives up to the hype First thing I noticed was how light it was, 1.2 kilos (that is about a bag of sugar) It looked pretty good in the shop, its there as soon as you walk in This tent is going to have to cope with varying conditions and probably a lot of abuse Upon opening it, I found the inner and outer of the tent, a couple of little bags with guy ropes and the pegs I would prefer that these were attached in some way; I can see these little bags being lost if packing in low light or darkness The tent its self went up very fast, and it was raining (it will rain when you are putting up your tent at some point, so putting it up in a realistic conditions seemed a good idea Once the elasticated poles have been sorted out, (DAC poles, they can be a little daunting when you first see them) it’s a very simple case of attaching the inner and throwing the outer over and attaching the loos, it is free standing so I didn’t need the pegs, but it would be a good idea to put these in, in case the wind picks up during the night I never timed myself putting it up (or taking it down) but it was very quick and the insides never got too wet I would definitely consider getting the NX footprint for it though (nothing worse than putting away a soggy tent) Well that’s about all I can add at the moment, but I'll add to this in 8 months time when I get back from Africa in 8-9 months time 12 August 2014
light, fast, effective. I brought this tent for traveling, so was vital that it was light and small for transporting and fast and simple to put up when in a rush. I was pleasantly suprised when pitching it for the first time at night with just a small torch, as i still managed to get it up in a few minuets with no problems. The tent is comparatively low priced when you look at tents of a similar spec and crucially weight. 21 May 2014
