Great all mountain board Bought this board before a trip in France, I have a good intermediate level and wanted to buy my first board after reading a couple of reviews. I ride easily the whole mountain and know basic tricks (50-50, fakie, jump 180°). I I am 6'2'' and weight: 200lbs. I took the regular width (not the wide one) as it fits perfectly a 11UK. Concerning the board: It is very easy to switch/jump 180°. The turn initiation is pretty simple, it is stable and holds well in small icy parts. I also found this board forgiving and avoided a couple of falls :D. The best of all was the carving part! The board has a medium stiff 5.5/10 (10 the stiffest) so it is possible to press but I needed a bit of practise. This is not a pure freestyle board but it does fine in the snow-park I tried a couple of jumps and it pops great! Jib are good too. I didn't have a chance to try the board in the powder as no real fresh snow. So overall a great all-mountain board that handles well all sort of pistes and that is fun in the snow-park with some great pop! 07 April 2014

The Sub Culture is a brand board from K2 with some brand new features. It’s a little like the Slayblade but with a more forgiving feel. It shares the New Lifted Baseline that builds in the pop and power of camber for bigger jumps and more energetic turns, yet feels loose and playful around the tip and tail for more fun riding. The directional Twin shape make it versatile for riding piste, park, powder, you name it. This is the one board solution for all conditions. In addition it scores a high end base for speed, and light and responsive core making it agile and exciting to blast around on. Hotly tipped amongst staff as one of the fastest sellers because of board test feedback.

Glossary

Lifted BaseBringing a new level of Pop to K2's Baseline offering, Lifted is just what it sounds like. We took the flat between the feet foundation that all our boards are built on and simply raised it. This brings in the Pop of a cambered board while maintaining the even weighted contact points that provide the straight tracking and effortless precision of a flat board.
Hybritaper ConstructionHybritaper takes our Hybritech Construction, and tapers out the core at the tip and tail to reduce the swing weight. We blend the tips from a cap into a thin sandwich removing material where you don’t need it.
CarbonWebAlways improving the feel and energy return of our boards, the R+D group releases the CARBON WEB rider input/output system. Offered in two levels of sensitivity. Resulting in a more connected feedback loop from terrain to rider.
