Fantastic boots Great boots worn from brand new for a week's walking in the lakes with no problems whatsoever. Dealt perfectly with the snow, ice and wet and kept very warm. Great support and very comfortable from first wear. Bought superfeet green to complement them and incredibly comfy. Fantastic in store service at monument as well. 11 March 2013
Nice study boot I'd been looking at various boots and reviews over the last couple of months. I wanted to like the Salomons, but firstly the sizing just didn't work for my feet and secondly the sole didn't inspire confidence. I like a bit of scrambling and my previous elderly Scarpa SL boots had given me good grip but also good edging ability, so I was looking for something similar. I took part in the WaterAid Six peaks challenge last year, and noticed that a lot of my colleagues were struggling on the rocky sections of some of the hills. It would appear that their boots were flexing a lot and they remarked at my ability, provided by my old SL's, to stand on the edges and points that they would not attempt. I was therefore keen to get a boot with a firm footbase. I'm very pleased with these boots. I wore them around the office for the first couple of weeks to test them - very comfortable - and then took them onto the Downs for a trek where the firm sole proved it's worth ascending muddy slopes. They are slightly heavier then the latest round of ultra lightweight boots, but I'm willing to pay that price for a boot that will allow me to stride along Crib Goch with confidence. I haven't had the chance to test the waterproofing, which I hope will be fine. The one thing I will miss is the close fitting Yeti Attak Gaiter which provided unmatchable water resistance. Hopefully these boots will last almost as long as my previous well used pair of Scarpa's 08 January 2013
