Arc'teryx Men's Parsec Coat
This is going to be a top item in my wardrobe
Not yet a second skin as it might become, it is definitely going to last in my wardrobe for long. Excellent quality and cut, still need to find the best use for it in the Mediterranean climate though.

Contemporary design and fantastic performance
Three quarter lengthened jackets that are fully waterproof rarely come as stylish as the Parsec. The fact that it is Gore Tex makes it fully waterproof and the generous and adjustable hood means that you are very well protected when the heavens open up (as they often do in Scotland!). The jacket works equally well with a suit as it does with a pair of jeans, and I therefore wear mine during the week and at weekends. If you are looking for warmth, then the Parsec may not be perfect for you. However, it is fine on a winter's day if you are wearing it over a suit, or have a jumper on. Equally, the fact that it is not heavily lined means that it is perfect for mild/hot rainy days. My only slight negative is that is does not have an inside zipped pocket, however, both side pockets are zipped.

Great jacket, a couple of minor design changes would make it suberb
I bought this as jacket as I wanted a shell for more formal wear, a suit that is. I wanted the flexibility of wearing it casual on more dress down days. In this respect the design is great.
The material and cut of the jacket is suberb. On windy, wet days around town I have appreciated the wind and water proofness of the shell.
A small criticism is the zip is fixed a little low so on long strides, walking up steep stairs, sitting down with the jacket on, it is a little tight around the seat. But not so much as to be a discomfort. A double zip or the lower zip fix being slightly higher would fix this issue.
Another observation, whle I am bald and don't have the largest head, the hood does seem to be rather large. I have to pull the adjusters on the hood all the way in to get the hood to cup my head. An urban jacket should not need a hood that can accomodate a mountaineering helment.
These two observations aside, a great jacket.

The product is very pricey but it is very good quality and will hopefully last
This 'mac' is a bit of a niche purchase and has taken the place of my Burberry in my wardrobe. For a waterproof it is quite stylish. The long front zip seems a little flimsy and is tricky to get started. Something more substantial for the zip would be suitable.
A good investment I hope.

stunning jacket but slightly too spacious
I love this coat. My first ever investment in goretex and so far very impressed. Has come in very useful in the current changeable climate as it is smart enough to wear to work or casualy around town. I have received many complements about the coat.
The only thing I would change is the fit around the chest. The spacious design is good when wearing a blazer underneath but is otherwise too big.
If you are looking for a technical coat that you can wear in smarter environments then buy this one.
