Julbo Explorer (Spectron 4 Lense) 4.7 5 3 3
Perfect for Alpine mountaineering Having read the recommendations that Category 4 sunglasses were best suited to high Alpine Climbing, I started looking on websites and going in to stores. I was surprised by the limited choices available but went for the Jublo mainly because I liked the look of them but mostly because I loved the wrap around close, comfortable fit and good face cover. I have just returned from a trip to Mont Blanc with unfortunately only two brief periods of bright sun in a week. They performed superbly on both occasions. I fully understood the need for Category 4. They were also very useful and an adequate alternative to ski goggles in heavy snow and blizzards. Be patient if they steam up initially when putting them on in bad weather - the lenses clear in seconds. 15 July 2014
Look'n good while protecting the eyes from harsh snow glare My second par of Julbo's and they continue to be a great investment for the protection of your eyes in pure snow conditions. My only complaint is that they tend to slide off my nose a little - perhaps I should get take them to a glasses shop to fix (?). 08 July 2014
Cool Shades I have just recently returned from an Alpine trek and these category 4 sunglasses were perfect for me! They carried me all the way up to the top of Mont Blanc and for that I am very grateful. I was cautious before the trek of getting snow blindness, but thankfully these were perfect for me. I am very happy with this purchase and for the great quality product that they are, they are definitely worth the price.By the way these are an essential piece of kit and if you don't buy these you may get snow blindness, they are very much better than other less expensive goggles as they cover the edges of your eyes as well, which I can say form experience is very helpful. Also, they look insanely cool! 17 June 2012
