The North Face Men's Bansko Jacket
Best gear I've bought in a long time
I wasn't going to spend this much on a jacket originally but after wearing it for a weak in the alps I definitely made the right decision. The jacket feels such good quality, north face have outdone themselves with this one.

This jacket is all set for the slopes!
Really comfortable jacket that looks the part while giving you the functionality required in a ski jacket.

Great combination of style, practical features and value
This ski jacket is clearly designed by and for serious skiers rather than people who just like to be seen on the slopes. The number, design and layout of pockets allows carriage of camera, phone, piste map, sunscreen, etc with easy access and the main zip and velcro-attached storm flap allow rapid adjustment of ventilation to meet the conditions, even with gloved hands. The design of the hood allows it to cover a helmet and to be raised and lowered rapidly -very useful when travelling on windy chairlifts.
The quality of manufacture appears to be very high. My only minor criticisms are that it would be helpfull if the second inside pocket had a zip, and that the goggle- demisting cloth with its attachment should not be in the sleeve pocket, which is the obvious location for a proximity ski pass, as this gives too great a risk that the ski pass will be accidentally lost when using the demister.
I was unable to test the quality of the waterproofing but breathability was certainly acceptable.

I bought this coat based on the previous reviews and trying it on at Snow & Rock. I was going to opt for the slight cheaper North Face ski jacket but after trying it on and with the advice of the Snow & Rock assistant it was a no brainer to go for the Bansko as it look great, has enough pockets and is just amazingly well made.
