Osprey Talon 33
Versatile backpack that fills a variety of roles.
I'm a very avid traveler and outdoors man so I've gone through my fair share of day sacks. I can confidently say this one strikes a good balance between carrying capacity and functionality.
Lots of pouches, including a front loading helmet pouch, there's plenty of places to put all your stuff. The material of the pack itself is light and does a good job of repelling water to keep your stuff dry but you may want to pair the inside up with a dry sack to be safe.
The only cons I would point out with this is the inability to remove the hip pads and your'e not always going to use them and also the small plastic clip-ons for the straps; they could be bigger and thicker to ensure that they won't crack if you bump into a wall or accidentally step on them.
Finally, I'd say you get good value for the price you pay on this pack.

Purpose built and excellent for it
I got this item as a means to an end for my old tatty heavy sack that I used to use. What a difference! It's lightweight, durable and sturdy with all the added hooks and pockets for perfect travelling around the country as well as any short to mid sized expedition.
The security of each area is fantastic and I have found even for a short day trip out needing the random items that it is easily made into a much smaller daysqck without looking peculiar!
A great buy and recommend for anyone going on a short weekend hike.

Good lightweight sack.
Overall it is a good lightweight sack, I took mine for a week in chamonix and it coped very well in the heat. There is just enough room inside for all my climbing gear or for a day on the glacier. Its narrow enough so you have plenty of range of motion for while climbing, and comfortable for all day use. 10 pitches up and still cool and comfy.
