Burton Ambush 12/13

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by One of the lightest boots out there The Burton Ambush snowboard boot is the lightest boot I've ever owned. After a two days riding the insole felt so comfortable that I don't even loosen the laces during lunchtime. 29 May 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outsanding boot Outstanding boot, the difference between my old cheap boot's and these was amazing, I have only tried them in slushy end of season snow, where the excelled, keeping my feet warm and dry and more importantly helping my riding, the reduced foot print eliminated the dreaded toe/heel drag face plants, and the wight difference between them and my old boot was astonishing, they are like trainers. Great support offering great feel of the board. I have wide feet and the fit like a glove with out any pinching. All round well impressed and wish I had spent a little more and started my snowboarding with a pair of theses. 20 May 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent boots All round good intermediate snowboarder. Upgraded from Burton Moto boot. Lightweight but with loads of support for those long traverses at the end of the day. ESE system makes the boot "smaller", reducing toe/heel drag, but bindings will need to be adjusted to compensate for the smaller footprint. Two zone fastening system means they are easy to get on and off and to tweak pressure at any time during the day. My feet stayed fresh all day, whether on the piste or in the powder. 19 February 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good bit of kit Pretty much as described. They're the lightest boots I've worn, have a small exterior profile, kept my feet warm, easy to use/adjust lacing system and look pretty good. It took around 3 days for the boot to wear in which is about the same as my previous ones (Salomon Dialogue). Probably mid flex but with the easily adjustable laces you can loosen them up. I'm not a fan of Burton but can't fault these boots so far. 15 January 2013

Glossary

Shrinkage Footprint Reduction Tech:Reduces the boot's overall footprint a full size, meaning a men's size 10 fits like a size 10, but has the footprint of a size 9. Shorter, lighter, sleeker - never suffer from toe drag again.
Speed Zone Lacing System:Gives you lightning fast lacing control. Customizes the fit of the upper or lower zone. Powerful system so you get more rebound/wrap and better response with less effort. Virtually indestructible, it features injected lace guides that aid in shell wrap for a better fit, reduced friction and easy upgrading.
Imprint 3 Liner:Focus Cuff Heel Hold System w/Velcro J-Bar Interface & Inner Lace Lock, Lightweight Power Panels, Sock Lock, Rad Pad, Velcro Liner Closure, Level 2 Moulded EVA footbed w/ESS Support Shank & Aegis Antimicrobial coating, Heat mouldable.
Focus Cuff:Boosts heel hold by hugging the sweet spot on your ankle and increases response for all-mountain agility.
Velcro J-Bar interface:Positioned in the heel pocket for added support.
Inner lace lock:Quick-lock design keeps heels locked down all day. Uses a one-handed release tab.
Power Panels:To ensure a consistent flex, the liner features strategically placed panels that, even afterbeing deeply flexed, return to their original position.
Sock Lock:Directional fibre lining allows feet to easily slide into place and stay there all day.
Rad Pad:Located on the top of the instep where the laces exert most pressure, these pre-curved panels keep feet happy for hours.
Aegis Antimicrobial coating:This antimicrobial coating inhibits the growth of odour-causing bacteria.
EST-Optimized midsole:Lower-profile, lighter weight, and with a reduced ramp angle, it lowers your centre of gravity and improves feel. Control your set-up without sacrificing an ounce of cushioning thanks to ultra-dampening B3 Gel inserts.
B3 Gel:Cushioning used in Burton boots that is focused under the heels for impact protection. Provides ultimate dampening and withstands repeated impacts without breaking down.
Dynolite EST Optimized Outsole:Made using a specially formulated cushioning compound that withstands repeated impact and freezing temps for longer lasting shock absorption, superior cushioning, improved board feel, and consistent support throughout. EST's lower-profile, lighter weight, and reduced ramp angle lowers your centre of gravity and improves feel.
B3 Gel:Cushioning used in Burton boots that is focused under the heels for impact protection. Provides ultimate dampening and withstands repeated impacts without breaking down.
Oversized Flex Notches:Strategically placed to allow for smoother more fluid lateral and medial flex, perfect for pressing and tweaking.

Flex Spine Backstay:Get effortless medial and lateral mobility w/ample edge-to-edge support for when it's time to throw down the landing gear.
Total Comfort Construction:Gives an instantly broken-in feel right out of the box that feels just as good from shop floor to season opener, and every day thereafter.
Snowproof internal gusset:The tongue has an internal gusset construction to completely seal the lower zone of the boot.
