Patagonia Men's Powder Bowl GTX Jacket

Patagonia Men's Powder Bowl GTX Jacket 5 5 1 1
It needs a matching pocket on the chest. See below. The jacket length is sensible. I never want a ski jacket that has padding - I'd rather have a shell so that my arms are free to move around. I keep warm with a down gilet and as long as my core is warm so are my arms. Too many people think that they need a fleece as well but I think it constricts. Most of the shell jackets from your alpine range don't have a snow skirt and since I am always looking for 'a bit on the side' (powder of course!) if I do take a tumble it's good to have the skirt. The jacket lacks a second top pocket. The transceiver needs to be on the opposite side of the body from the radio and I find it more comfortable to have the former underneath the heart rather than on the other side. Strange. The second pocket needs to be deep enough to take a radio. I hope you find this helpful. 24 March 2014

Glossary

Recco® avalanche rescue reflector: Using sophisticated radar technology, the Recco reflector forms the passive element of a 2-part avalanche search system. Ski resorts and mountain rescue teams carry Recco detectors, which send out a search signal, and the Recco® reflector bounces back a directional signal that directs the rescuer straight to the reflector. More than 600 resorts and rescue services around the world use the Recco Rescue System as part of their immediate response.
GORE-TEX® Fabric with 2-layer construction:Features a GORE-TEX® membrane bonded to the outer shell and protected on the inside by a separate lining. Benefit: the inner lining ensures better wear and comfort.
