Rated 5 out of 5Â by Thor Great hiking, biking day pack
I bought the Talon 33 in 2012, for a hike of Scotland's West Highland Way. Since that hike, I've used for numerous day hiking outings, and as a hydration/load carry pack for bikepacking. Likes: Minimalist suspension not only carries well with the sort of loads you should have in this pack, but manages to be comfortable AND dry quickly after getting wet. In Scotland and Wales we got rained on a lot; the pack always dried by morning. A mesh pocket on each side and a large on on the back make it easy to keep your raingear or other gear close to hand. Or wet raingear out of the main pack.. Very easy to load and unload a hydration bladder. Excellent support from wide, minimalist hip belt. Pockets on hip belt great for stashing snacks, compass, etc; handy and easy to work. Dislikes: Could use a second pair of compression straps up high. Not a huge issue; careful packing keeps gear managed. No extendible top lid on mine. Given the light suspension and foam framing, arguably a good thing it's hard to overfill. No included rain cover. Not a huge issue, as Osprey make one that fits the pack well... Doesn't work well for winter. The foam and mesh build of the back panel and hip belt get snow stuck in them easily. Once there it melts into your clothes once you put on the pack again. Can be minimized with care, but still annoying.

Love how I can fit multiple pairs of climbing shoes my harness and extra clothing in this pack when I'm on a trip or just going to the indoor wall.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by ACAC Great Bag- fits well and comfortable to use.
I have used the bag on a number of runs since purchasing and have had no issues. There are plenty of easy to access pockets so you don't have to stop and take off your bag when on the move.
Very happy with my purchase so far.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by KMilk Super comfortable with plenty of space
I bought this for my first proper hiking holiday in Northern Spain. It was extremely comfortable - even when fully packed. The weight was well distributed which made walking easy.
I did not experience any discomfort even in the heat as the fabric is breathable and the construction of the frame allows the air to circulate well.
I would definitely recommend this back pack.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by jreades Great ultra-light, structured day pack
Until I tried this, I've always used a rugged North Face or Arcteryx type daypack that is both very water-resistant and 'unstructured' (i.e. heavily-padded cloth back). This pack is cheaper, lighter, has a proper hip-belt, and actually holds the weight nicely off of the back for added ventilation.
The only down-side as far as I'm concerned is that it comes at the price of water-resistance. This pack will not even keep out a heavy shower, so any cameras/phones/etc. will need to be bagged if the forecast looks a bit dodgy. For me that minor irritant is well worth the decrease in weight and much better performance on actual hiking trips.
You can also buy an Osprey 'camelback' in 2 or 3L capacities that slides down between the pack and the 'frame'. In all, very pleased with this purchase.

I have used the older version enthusiastically and found the updated version has more quirky pockets etc which are really handy. It fits comfortably and is light weight, holding enough for a five day walk
