Inov8 Men's Mudclaw 300
Top Drawer for OCR's
I have recently progressed into INOV 8 running shoes for Obstacle coarce races. I was running in New Balance trail shoes prior to the purchase of my INOV 8 X Tallon 212's as i was getting more involced with the sport.
I found the 212's a great all rounder but not so great in the wetter winter months.
Enter the MUDCLAW 300.
I cannot explain how much i love these shoes. They are super lightweight, drain extremely quicky and are a great fit. Whilst they still offer you the minamalist heel drop (6mm), they feel more padded under foot than the 212's and offer more support around the ankle which I feel is a must in the winter months.
I would recommend these shoes to anyone wanting a fantastic addition to their kit.
PS:What a colour

Brilliant - like running crampons.
The first thing you notice when putting these on is a very comfortable and supportive snug fit (they are exactly to UK sizes). Once you start moving around they are surprisingly well cushioned for an extreme shoe. As soon as you hot thick mud or snow, it's just wall-to-wall grins - I have never enjoyed sliding around while trying to run, and these put the control firmly back with you. Having warn crampons on snow and ice, these are the closest in sensation to having the grip of crampons in a lightweight running package. You can comfortably do a run in/out on track/road in these but of course they will wear quickly on tarmac, so are really only a winter off-road shoe. Combined with waterproof membrane socks, and the inov8 running gaiter, they can take some pretty harsh winter conditions. I have been told they are dangerous in mountain 'rock hopping' conditions, which I can well imagine, but clearly not what they are intended for. Mine make me want to get out in the worse weather/ground conditions, which is a first. Buy and enjoy. The only con, I will be glad when the current outdoor clothing fad for ridiculous, clashing, bright colours has passed...

Excellent product - never let's me down
Having previously owned Mudclaws (until they were stolen whilst drying out on my front door) they were the must haves for another winter season of outdoor training, kicking off with Tough Mudder London South. I had complete confidence in the shoes throughout the 12 miles despite obviously tricky terrain. I suffered no discomfort despite only one practise outing. I had the pleasure if being accompanied by a BBC film crew and the ultra runner who was running alongside with his go-pro was also wearing mudclaws - probably says it all! This is the only choice this winter!
