Five Ten Anasazi Velcro Rock Shoe
A fantastic shoe for those looking for a bit more grip.
I'm very happy with these shoes.
They are very comfy after a short breaking-in period and have a fantastic balance in stiffness.
They are easy to smear in but also still manage to edge excellently.
The sole is flat, with no downturn in either the heel or the toes, a feature which I personally have never subscribed to anyway.
This brings me to the best part of the shoe, the rubber.
These are without a doubt the best griping shoes on the market.
I really have no bad thing to say about the rubber.
These shoes are quite expensive, but i suppose you have to pay for quality!

Great rubber, tight fit, poor heel.
My shoe of choice for steep sports routes indoor and out. Very sticky rubber. Velcro fitting is so useful! Been using these for about 4 years regularly. can wear on all day trad outings too, but my current sizing would leave feet sore after about 1/2 day.
Wear size 9 shoes and trainers and I wear these shoes in a 9 also. Very snug. Good edges and smearing ability, fairly flexible. The white versions (Galileo) are a bit stiffer - and tighter!
Break in properly over some time. But they don't give much really - 1/3 - 1/2 size?? guess that's the synthetic liner at work. Oh - being synthetic, after a few sweaty sessions, these shoes are very likely to be kept in quarantine for airing!!! Pretty stinky. Never had this problem with any of my other natural material shoes (red chilli).
Downside - The heel area isn't great (it's loose around the edges) so not perfect at heel hooking. The glue between the rubber and material can give up over time too. Nothing to worry about but unexpected from a £100 pair of shoes.
Overall very pleased with performance on small edges, polished limestone smears.

When my wife and I were buying climbing shoes, a friend recommended Snow & Rock, Covent Garden. There we met Jay, a climber himself who was super knowledgable and very helpful.
What's more Snow and Rock did a price match so I got them with an amazing discount too!
Although the Anasazi VCS2 Velcro is quoted as being for "advanced" climbers, I'm definitely not that, but as they fit my feet well and and have also performed really well, I'm really happy with the purchase so far.
BTW, even the security guard at Snow and Rock Covent, Garden is super polite smiley and friendly. Credit to him too!
