Dynafit Mercury TF

Dynafit Mercury TF 5 5 1 1
Fantastic all round boot This is just a fantastic boot. I decided to upgrade from "hike and ride" boots on a Fritschi setup to these on Dynafit Radicals FTs. I have always been a bit worried touring boots just wouldn't drive the skis but I have not felt these to be soft at all. Coming from 120/130 flex previous boots I felt these were in the same ball park. The real benefit though is the comfort when skinning and just walking around or boot packing. These really do move back and forth with very little resistance. Doing the same tours as last year in these boots and on the dynafit bindings I felt like I skipped up the skin track! The integrated buckle and walk mode is really easy to use, and the little touches like being able to clip a holder over the buckle ridges so you don't lose your settings when loosening them is great. The top buckle also locks forward when undone so you don't have it getting in the way. They are so free moving you might even be tempted to do some lunges in them, just because you can! 30 March 2015

The Mercury is the Vulcan’s little brother. It offers top skiing performance - the ability to drive modern freeride skis at any speed, the possibility to customize forward stiffness thanks to a removable downhill booster tongue and optimal heel retention while skiing and landing big drops thanks to central buckle system (45°). The Mercury combines skiing performance, walk-ability and lightness with the patented technologies that made the TLT5 so popular among the best skiers in the world. The Mercury’s cuff benefits from a fiberglass reinforced TPU in the rear, while the front of the cuff is molded with pebax. This offers a high level of support and performance at a lower price than the carbon fiber Vulcan. The Mercury is compatible with all touring bindings on the market.
