Black Diamond Gridlock Screwgate
Excellent belay carabiner
Excellent belay device for climbing wall/ single pitch routes. Helps prevent jamming in belay device giving better overall rope control when belaying. Need to keep 'on harness' to avoid faffing, so may be an encumbrance on multi-pitch

Really functional albeit a little fiddly
Well made and functional belay screw gate as the gate can't flip whilst belaying. I had originally considered getting one of the screw gates with a plastic flap that ensures that the gate is screwed in the locked position and prevents it from inverting but as I store my gate on a gear loop when not being used, I was concerned the flap may get in the way. As I guessed the DMM gate is more fiddly than a conventional gate, unless of course, like my climbing partner, you leave the gate hanging from your belay loop permanently. In use the gate doesn't invert, neither does it slip into a cross load position. The slight fiddly bit is removing it from the harness. No more really slick action but more a double move to remove it from the belay loop. Not a big deal and the benefits far outweigh the loss of 'slick'. Store on a gear loop as normal with no noticeable difference. I wish that I had bought one months ago when I first saw them. Highly recommended.

No more cross-loaded belay-binier....
A well priced and simple answer to the age old dilemma of a cross loaded carabinier whilst belaying...
It took a few sessions to get used to but can swiftly clip in and out of the belay loop on my harness and rest assured that the biner won't spin and cross load... A must have bit of kit...!
