Rated 5 out of 5Â by Barney98 great light jacket
I looked at the Rab Microlight , but found this was a better fit & more stylish.
Handy stuff in sack in the pocket makes it easy to stow. Light but warm enough for a chilly spring / autumn day over a teashirt . Coped well in a light shower .

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Luke4d Excellent jacket, warm and well tailored.
My favourite new jacket. I'm 6'1 and 90kg and this jacket fits me really well, it has a slim fit and feels well tailored. I've taken it with me on back country walks/ hikes, car camping and climbing trips home and away and it has performed exactly as I wanted it too; keeps me warm on chilly evenings and whenever else I am feeling a bit cold. I'm also happy that it's stylish enough to wear it around town just as long as the weather is not too warm, otherwise it does overheat.
My main concern was that the jacket would not perform well in windy conditions as the hood does not have a storm flap and there is no draw cord at the bottom hem of the coat, however, I got a chance to test this out on a very windy ferry ride across the English Channel and the coat performed really well. the hood and the bottom hem both have an elastic cord running through them which kept I'd say 95% of the wind out, and the wind was blowing super hard (so hard that it was taking our weight as we leaned forward to do our best Michael Jackson smooth criminal impressions). The hoods fit around the face is snug and protective, it is low across the forehead, and when the coat is zipped up fully the front collar covers and protects the chin from the wind. There is also a zipper guard which is soft and so protects your chin from rubbing and becoming painful. The hood can also be tightened front-to-back by using a cinch cord in the back which makes the hood really functional and comfortable and also means that when fully zipped the jacket keeps you warm from all sides right up to the top of your chin without having to put the hood up. The only down side to the hood is there is not enough room in there for my climbing helmet but I have gotten around this my putting the helmet over the hood, which I don't mind doing although a more versatile hood would be better.
I have noticed only a few feathers poking out of the jacket which I expected but nothing that I am worried about yet. The jacket is very warm but also super light, and compresses down well into a bag in its own side pocket which I then keep in my climbing bag and whip out when I'm belaying or if the temperature drops and I feel myself getting cold.
Arc'teryx have used two different insulators: 850 fill down and 80g/m Coreloft, the latter being a synthetic insulator and so apparently better at resisting moisture. Arc'teryx have put this synthetic down in the places most likely to encounter moisture - armpits/ collar/ lower sleeves, which I do appreciate as when I do get too warm in this jacket, I notice my armpits getting warm first so it's good to know that the insulation is being protected from any moisture that might otherwise cause damage.
There are two zippered hand pockets on the side of the jacket,I would say they are slightly higher than usual, one with a bag attached to a drawstring which is where this coat packs away into. The pockets are nice and deep and a welcome home for cold hands. The zips on this coat use pieces of cord attached to the zipper which could benefit from an upgrade to a rubber tab or Arc'teryx logo, not just for aesthetic purposes but because I think they would be easier to grab hold of.
Over all a great jacket which I am very happy with; great quality and attention to detail from Arc'teryx, and great service from Snow and Rock as usual.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by madskier Excellent jacket! Must have as part of your ski gear.
I was well impressed when I first found this product online. Then I visited a Snow&Rock shop and tried it on. I was very delighted with the fitting, its look, colour and quality, so I didn't hesitate to buy it. I've worn it a few times since and I must admit it's become my favourite jacket! Although it looks thin, it's actually very warm. It's also easy to match with either ski trousers or regular jeans (depending on the occasion) because of its dark blue colour and light, thin orange strips. A-must-have! P.S. I also managed to get it for £260, although its original price was a bit higher.

I have always been reluctant to purchase a down jacket, preferring to layer up with fleece for warmth. After taking the plunge and opting for this jacket I have absolutely no regrets. The Jacket is warm, very warm, and I am also very impressed with the level of water repellency. Superb.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by jrhkerr Superlight and warm
Really did get the upsell when I went in store to buy this but it was well worth it and so pleased I paid more than I intended. This jacket is superlight, stuffs into a small bag and yet keeps me pretty warm.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by tug63 Perfect fit. Tried other jackets but back to Arc'teryx in the end
Great bit of kit which can be worn during activity or just casually for warmth.
Great looking coat and the hood and neck protection are invaluable on those especially cold mornings.
The fit is perfect for me. I tried other brands before purchasing that were cheaper but the fit was too generous and the jacket hung off my shoulders.
Not the cheapest jacket but well worth the extra money.

Buying Arc is always a guilty pleasure. Im not climbing everest, is this money well spent or a big luxury?
I swapped back and forth with the RAB equivalent in store which was hugley cheaper. The RAB was great but just didnt have that extra 10% that arc seem to put into their stuff. Its just the small details, its simple and you know its going to be technically excelent and durable (based on the soft shell I bought some years ago).
This product is warm (although I think its designed as a layer, so not trying to be the warmest), extremely comfortable, extremely lightweight, and I love that is stuffs small into a bag hidden in the pocket. Also I assumed little to no water resistance, but rain has beaded very nicely and I would consider this is slightly wet conditions too now.
I hope like my soft shell this lasts years and years.
