ABS Airbags Vario Zip On 25L

If you want a lightweight and compact Airbag, that offers plenty of space for days spent off piste, the ABS Airbag Base Unit and Vario 25L pack is a great choice. The 25L will be ideal for a big day out in the backcountry. All of your avalanche safety equipment (your shovel, probe and transceiver) will fit easily into the bag, with plenty of space to spare for a first aid kit, spare clothes or anything else you might want to pack for a day going off piste. The ABS Base Unit is compatible with a number of different sized packs, and it is easy to change them around. You only need invest in different volume packs without buying a separate airbag system each time to easily fit your bag around your planned tip. Skis or snowboards can be carried on the outside of the bag thanks to the straps, either diagonally or vertically. As well as this, there are attachments for an ice axe and a helmet but, if you don’t want or need these, they are removable, making the bag even more compact. Comfort as well as functionality is ensured, with padded straps, a mesh material back for breathability and an adjustable chest strap that will ensure the bag will fit people of any size. In an emergency situation, the 170 litre volume airbags can be inflated within 2-3 seconds with a quick pull of the trigger handle. The airbags will then help to keep you above the surface of the snow and ice, increasing your chance of survival and reducing the risk of injury and shock. The airbags used are made from the same material as car airbags, so you know they are strong and durable. When inflated, they are designed to protect the head without compromising your vision or movement of the head, neck and body. Both the canisters and the trigger handles are refillable. Airbag system backpacks have been proven to save lives in avalanches. The Swiss Federal Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research found that in 170 cases, the ABS Airbag either stopped the victim from being buried or helped reduce the depth of the burial, in most cases saving their lives. However, an Airbag bag is not to be used as an alternative to your normal avalanche safety equipment, only as an addition to it.
