Not exactly fit for purpose I went to the Covent Garden store today to try this on as I liked the look of it online and on the original uberfunction website. Generally I love luxe technical urban clothing - Massimo Osti variants, Prada Sport etc. I also love hi-tec activity wear with breathability and DWR - so this seemed a perfect fit. It is described as 'Luxury' which it isn't really - the outer fabric ruffles, shows up lots of dust in the store, is an odd shade of dark grey (not black really), and does most definitely not look or feel luxe. The zips aren't right for this concept, and the adjusters are basic plastic. This is supposed to be a smart jacket for business wear - as a replacement for a more traditional mac, but it is not nearly smart enough to be fit for purpose, and actually seems a little overpriced for what it is. The outer fabric is a major turn-off really ... 14 December 2013
Outdoor Technology + City Tailoring I walked into Snow & Rock and was immediately captivated by collar badge on this jacket: 'Outdoor Technology + City Tailoring'. Those words echoed exactly what I was going to ask the assistant for! After I recovered from the initial £550 price tag shock and started settling into this overcoat, I noticed that it does not have a single bad angle or any superfluous details/features. In terms of form and function it is a superb product #said by a design engineer#. As might be expected from it's Scandinavian origin, it deals exceptionally well with whichever combination of wind/rain/low temperature. Also, collars up/down, thermal liner in/removed, over a suit/casualwear, it manage to retain it's classy look. The magnets are a cool detail which have however inspired some work mates to start calling me 'Magneto' #the bad guy from x-Men#! Granted, one has to be slightly careful how close they get to metallic items like shop shutters or street furniture, but that is a very slight issue with what is otherwise a superbly conceived and developed product. 12 December 2013

Glossary

PrimaLoft One:The ultimate microfibre insulation, it has one of the highest warmth-to-weight ratios of any synthetic insulation. Ultra fine fibres are specially treated and then combined into an insulating core that is incredibly soft, lightweight and water resistant.
DWR (Durable Water Repellent):A DWR fabric will bead-up water on its surface to stop it soaking into the fibres. This maintains breathability and shortens drying times.
